Cades Cove is a very popular destination in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the Tennessee side. It is down in a valley and well known for beautiful nature scenes, historic cabins and churches and various wildlife, particularly black bears and deer. During another drive along this country road, I had an impromptu photoshoot with some black bears and their cubs.
Rich Mountain Road is accessible from within Cades Cove and I believe it is the only road that looks down into the valley. It provides wonderful views of the cove and the surrounding Smoky Mountains especially in the Spring and Fall. This historic, white church in the distance is a popular photo opportunity for any photographer.
